Your set time of recovery is NOW

Saints, it is RECOVER ALL season!

So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” - 1 Samuel 30:8

It is time to take back EVERY single thing that has been stolen from you. It is the season to rise up and take it because you have Heaven’s backing.

This season was highlighted to me towards the end of last year and the Lord said that the first half of 2023 would be very significant for this as He wants to bring His people into their full inheritance and help them get rid of things that have been tripping them up over time. Gloray! He is ready to partner with us so we can truly live free! Not that God doesn’t want to do this all the time but there is a greater emphasis in this season. What a marvellous and kind God we serve!

As I pondered on this season, the Lord reminded me of an experience I had a few years ago and He started to show me how what I went through relates to what we sometimes deal with.

Story time…

A few years ago, I was renting a flat with a friend in what some would consider a high brow part of London though I really disliked the area but agreed to live there as a compromise. At the point we took the flat, we were desperate and tired. We had searched for a long time, been swindled by an estate agent who tried to steal our money and coughed it up only after I told him my lawyer brother would be in touch. Our land lady in this flat actually turned out to be something else; two crazy sisters and I tell no lies but I digress. All of that is a story for another day when I decide to tell my London property tales.

One day, my friend (housemate) said she had something wrong in her room and this warranted that she hire someone to fix it. She went ahead to arrange this and I had no involvement as I didn’t need to but I knew she had hired a reputable company for this. On the day in question, my dearest laptop given to me by my dad which housed all my A level, university and early career life memories was sitting on the coffee table in our living room before I left for work. I came home after work and it was not there, imagine!

I will spare you the full details but essentially, the workman (thief) had come into our home and stolen my laptop, some of my friend’s jewellery and a few other things, most of which I cannot recall. He had basically used his short time period in our flat to carry out a raid and stole what he could. All of this was not obvious at first but as we searched for the laptop we started noticing what he had done. The thing is my friend (housemate) was in the building when all of this happened so we were perplexed as to how this took place but as we investigated, we saw exactly how he did this by leveraging the window, trash bags and newspaper. Again, I will spare you the full details.

My laptop was stolen from my home, right under the nose of someone I trusted. It was taken from what was meant to be the safest place it could have been. I felt so disgusted and violated, like how? It really broke me at the time. I didn’t really have a relationship with God then so had no way to unburden. I just cried, complained and milked my last born privileges to the point that my dad who lived abroad sent my a brand new laptop. Please don’t judge me, I was young.

We had allowed a thief come into our flat without knowing it

The point is, we had allowed a thief come into our flat without knowing it and he had done what his bloodline do, steal. I have since forgiven him and do hope he is saved now.

This experience taught me so many lessons about multiple things but in the context of this recovering all, it highlighted to me that some of the things we need to recover are things that have been stolen because we unknowingly allowed the enemy to come in and do what he does. As per his job description, he is a thief. That is one of his OKR’s and he executes it at every opportunity.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly - John 10:10

As much as the Lord is calling us to recover all, He is also drawing our attention to the fact that some of the things we need to recover were due to things we allowed into our lives. It is important we know this so we are not ignorant of the devises of the one who constantly tries to steal from us. God wants us to not only recover all but to keep all! That means we preserve what we recover and we avoid more things being stolen from us, all by His Grace.

What is the Lord calling you to recover today?

Are there promises He has made to you that you have forgotten about and are no longer believing for? Has the enemy stolen your joy and hope concerning certain things? This is a time to recover these things. Recover all, means ALL.

Over the next few days, ask the Lord to show you what you have lost or let go off and need to recover. There are somethings you would have forgotten about and some you would not have even been aware of. As you do this, ask the Lord to give you your personalised recovery strategy and be determined to stay committed to it.

All by His GRACE. This is RECOVER ALL season!!!
